‘Our Fuyu persimmon tree is loaded this year. The birds have started feasting on them so we picked the ripest and will finish them off inside. The tree is a young one so we haven’t had enough of them to beat the birds before. They are firm but still edible at this stage, so hoping that they will ripen satisfactorily inside despite being picked earlier than optimal!’ (Della) We are going to try putting them in the fridge to keep them from spoiling and just taking out a couple each day to ripen on the window ledge.
