Ultralight Folding Coffee Cup

This cup has been officially classified as a work of art in its home country, Sweden – which it certainly is.  It is a folding coffee cup which folds down to just 1″ (2.5cm) high but it weighs just 25 gram (which is well-nigh impossible to beat for hiking). It holds 237 mls just shy of a ‘regular’ cupful (250 mls) If this is a bit small for you it does have a ‘big brother’ (or sister) which holds nearly two cups full (591 mls = 46 grams). It costs less than A$5. Comes in a variety of colours. I liked this one = desert. Wildo also make many other useful hiking utensils. You should take a look at their range.

It would make a great companion piece to those showcased in my last two posts: https://www.theultralighthiker.com/2019/10/19/best-coffee-on-the-trail/https://www.theultralighthiker.com/2019/10/19/most-beautiful-ultralight-windscreen/

And of course you need something to boil the water in such as https://www.theultralighthiker.com/2016/01/26/cookset-woes/ or https://www.theultralighthiker.com/2017/09/18/ultralight-cookpot/

  1. Have you seen the following? I saw it on Cool Tools. Might be marginally interesting:

    Stojo Pocket Cup: https://stojo.co/

Stojo Pocket Cup ($15) I have dedicated myself to only getting coffee to go if I have a reusable cup. I just bought this silicone
fold up cup and love it. https://kk.org/cooltools/whats-in-my-bag-nicole-harkin/

    At amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Stojo-S1-CBN-Pocket-12oz-Carbon/dp/B07RGX8JR7/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&linkCode=sl1&tag=whatsinmybag-20&linkId=d5e2642a141e6c2ca1242369e937a12c&language=en_US

    1. Hi Dave, I have/had seen the Stojo cup (or similar) when I was searching Alexpress for folding/stackable cups (a lot cheaper there too!) but I discounted it/them for hiking on account of the weight (but thank you). The cup I have used for years is just under an ounce (and stackable so that you can also fit your Brasslite or etc inside it). I was looking for anything lighter than that and came up with the Wildo. I made an even lighter one (7-8 grams) back here: but it is fragile. I included it at this point on account of the ultralight coffee filter and windscreen which preceded it. I have found an ultralight bowl (<12 grams) More about that later… The ‘what’s in my bag’ link is interesting and I will explore it further. Thanks again. Have a great day. Cheers, Steve.
