Lovely Titanium

Some times I feel like the character in Spike Milligan’s Bed-Sitting Room who was in love with rubber – only for me it is titanium. I see beautiful objects crafted in this lovely metal and feel the need to lust after them.

I understand that in many ways the dispute about which is better titanium or aluminum or titanium or stainless steel is akin to the medieval schoolmen’s disputes about the angels on a pinhead – and even that aluminium despite its relative softness actually wins out in terms of lightness and heat-exchange abilities.

Nonetheless I still really like titanium – and I must confess stainless steel too! A fine example of this is the stunning array offered by the company Titaner.

For example I really like the look and concept of their wonderful Falcon 2.0 folder at 11.74 at 11.74 grams and US$ 69.99 (Dec 2021). It takes five different sized scalpel blades.

Admittedly if you really want ultra light you would go for their Hummingbird at 4.7 grams & US$36.99.

I know your whisky already comes in a 200ml plastic hip flask straight from the supermarket which probably weighs even less than this – but does it have the class of this lovely titanium hip-flask (at US$34.98?
